These Terms of Service govern your use of lingualibretto.com and your participation in any Lingua & Libretto workshop, session, coaching engagement, or institutional program. By accessing this website, registering for a service, or submitting any form, you agree to these terms in full.
Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use this website or register for any Lingua & Libretto service.
1. Who We Are
Lingua & Libretto is operated by Doctor Maple LLC, a limited liability company registered in Kansas, doing business as Lingua & Libretto.

2. Services
Lingua & Libretto offers the following services:
Language instruction
Single Study Session — a 60-minute private online Italian or French language session, booked directly through Acuity Scheduling and processed by Stripe
10-Session Continuing Study Package — a 10-session application-based private language instruction engagement, scoped and contracted through Dubsado
Italian Sound and Text Workshops
The Sounds of Italian — a live online group workshop in Italian phonetics and pronunciation for singers and musicians, booked and paid through Acuity Scheduling
The Italian Text in Performance — a live online group workshop in Italian libretto literacy and text preparation for singers and musicians, booked and paid through Acuity Scheduling
Opera text coaching
Audition Prep Session — a 90-minute private online session for singers preparing Italian repertoire for auditions, competitions, or juries, booked directly through Acuity Scheduling and processed by Stripe
Aria Intensive — a 5-session application-based private coaching engagement, scoped and contracted through Dubsado
Role Preparation Intensive — a 10-session application-based private coaching engagement, scoped and contracted through Dubsado
Institutional engagements
Custom workshops, guest sessions, and production-specific programs for conservatories, universities, opera programs, and summer programs, scoped and priced through an inquiry conversation
Lingua & Libretto reserves the right to modify the content, format, delivery method, or facilitation of any service with reasonable notice. Material changes to a registered service will be communicated by email before the session date.
3. Eligibility
By using this website or registering for any Lingua & Libretto service, you represent and warrant that:
You are at least 18 years of age
You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
You are not prohibited from using these services under applicable law
Lingua & Libretto does not knowingly provide services to anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has registered for a service, we will cancel the registration and issue a full refund.
4. Registration and Payment
Workshop registration
Registration for The Sounds of Italian and The Italian Text in Performance is completed through Acuity Scheduling and processed by Stripe. Your registration is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy govern all payment transactions. Lingua & Libretto does not store your card details.
Single Study Session and Audition Prep Session booking
The Single Study Session and the Audition Prep Session are booked directly through Acuity Scheduling. Payment is collected at the time of booking and processed by Stripe via the Acuity Scheduling integration. Your session is confirmed upon receipt of full payment. Acuity's terms of service and Stripe's terms of service and privacy policy govern this transaction. Lingua & Libretto does not store your card details.
Coaching and package applications
The Aria Intensive, the Role Preparation Intensive, and the 10-Session Continuing Study Package are application-based. Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance. You will be contacted within three business days of submitting your application. Payment is invoiced through Dubsado after acceptance and processed by Stripe.
Institutional engagements
Custom and institutional sessions are scoped and priced through an inquiry conversation. Proposals, contracts, and invoicing for institutional engagements are managed through Dubsado. No payment is due until a formal proposal has been reviewed and a contract has been signed by both parties. Payment terms are specified in the engagement contract.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Workshops (The Sounds of Italian and The Italian Text in Performance)
Full refund: available if you cancel 7 or more days before the first session date
Credit toward a future workshop: available if you cancel within 7 days of the first session date
No spot transfers: your registration may not be transferred to another person
Lingua & Libretto cancellation: if Lingua & Libretto cancels a session, you will receive a full cash refund within 5 business days
Single Study Session and Audition Prep Session
These sessions may be rescheduled with at least 24 hours' notice using the link in your confirmation email. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the session are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the session are not eligible for a refund. Missed sessions without notice are not refunded. If Lingua & Libretto cancels or is unable to deliver the session, you will receive a full refund within 5 business days.
Aria Intensive, Role Preparation Intensive, and 10-Session Continuing Study Package
Either party may terminate a coaching or package engagement with written notice to hello@lingualibretto.com.
If you terminate early: Sessions delivered are charged at the per-session rate for your package. Any remaining balance is refunded on a pro-rata basis minus a $100 administrative fee.
Aria Intensive (5 sessions, $700) — $140 per session
Role Preparation Intensive (10 sessions, $1,300) — $130 per session
10-Session Continuing Study Package (10 sessions, $890) — $89 per session
Refunds are processed within 10 business days of written notice.
If Lingua & Libretto terminates early: You will receive a full refund of all unused sessions within 5 business days. No administrative fee will be charged.
Institutional engagements
Cancellation terms for institutional engagements are specified in the Dubsado proposal and engagement contract for each project. In the absence of specific contract terms, a full refund is available if cancelled more than 14 days before the session date. Cancellations within 14 days are subject to a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the engagement value to cover preparation costs already incurred.
6. Intellectual Property
All Lingua & Libretto materials are the proprietary intellectual property of Doctor Maple LLC. This includes but is not limited to:
Workshop content, exercises, and facilitation structures
Libretto analysis materials, text preparation frameworks, and annotated materials
Course exercises, worksheets, and PDF guides
Email content, website copy, and marketing materials
The Lingua & Libretto brand, logo, and visual identity
Recordings of workshop sessions
You may not reproduce, distribute, adapt, publish, perform, display, or create derivative works from any Lingua & Libretto material without prior written permission from Doctor Maple LLC.
Participants are welcome to apply what they learn in their own performance preparation, teaching, and professional work. This permission does not extend to reproducing, distributing, or teaching Lingua & Libretto workshop content, libretto analysis frameworks, or text preparation materials in any commercial or professional capacity without a separate written agreement.

7. Confidentiality
Our commitment to you
Lingua & Libretto will keep all personal information you share in sessions, applications, and intake forms strictly confidential. We will not disclose your personal details, repertoire, or session content to any third party without your explicit written consent, except as required by law.
Aggregate and anonymized insights may be used to improve Lingua & Libretto's methodology and services. No individually identifying information will be shared.
Your commitment to us
By participating in any Lingua & Libretto coaching or package engagement, you agree not to publicly reproduce, share, teach, or commercially exploit the proprietary frameworks, exercises, or content delivered in your sessions.
This confidentiality obligation survives the termination of your engagement.
8. Session Recording
Workshops
Lingua & Libretto records live workshop sessions (The Sounds of Italian and The Italian Text in Performance) for internal review and marketing purposes. Recordings capture all participants and are not shared with attendees. Participants with an accessibility need may request a copy of a recording by contacting hello@lingualibretto.com after their session.
Participants are notified of recording in their workshop confirmation email and day-before reminder.
One-on-one sessions
The Single Study Session, Audition Prep Session, Aria Intensive, Role Preparation Intensive, and 10-Session Continuing Study Package are not recorded under any circumstances.
Accommodation exceptions
Requests for recording accommodations in one-on-one sessions are evaluated case by case. Contact hello@lingualibretto.com before your session date to discuss your needs.
9. Testimonials and Feedback
Lingua & Libretto may request your permission to use feedback or testimonials for marketing purposes after a workshop or session. Permission will be requested separately and explicitly. We will not use your feedback publicly without your consent.
Where consent is given, you may choose to be attributed by full name, first name only, role only, or anonymously.
10. Scope of Services
Lingua & Libretto provides Italian and French language instruction, opera text coaching, libretto literacy workshops, and related educational services. These services are educational and professional development in nature.
Lingua & Libretto is not:
A therapy, counseling, or mental health service
A voice studio or singing teacher
A diction service as a primary or standalone offer
A guarantee of audition results, competition outcomes, employment, or career advancement
A replacement for your voice teacher, coach, conductor, or repetiteur
Lingua & Libretto is designed to complement your existing vocal and musical training, not to substitute for it.
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or require clinical support, please seek assistance from a qualified mental health professional. Lingua & Libretto is not equipped to provide that support.
Results from Lingua & Libretto sessions and workshops depend on your active participation, honest engagement, and commitment to preparation work outside of sessions. Lingua & Libretto cannot guarantee specific outcomes.
Independent decision-making
Lingua & Libretto serves as an expert guide and thinking partner for text preparation, language study, and performance work. All performance decisions — including but not limited to interpretive choices, audition repertoire, competitive programs, and professional engagements — are made by you independently.
Lingua & Libretto expressly disclaims any responsibility for the outcome of decisions made during or after any session, workshop, or coaching engagement.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Doctor Maple LLC's total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to your use of this website or any Lingua & Libretto service shall not exceed the total amount you paid for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
Doctor Maple LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of income, loss of opportunity, loss of data, or emotional distress, arising from your use of or inability to use Lingua & Libretto services, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Lingua & Libretto services are provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Doctor Maple LLC makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, or suitability of any content, service, or material provided.
We do not warrant that this website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.
13. External Links
This website contains links to third-party websites and services including Acuity Scheduling, Calendly, Dubsado, Stripe, Kit, Zoom, and others. These links are provided for your convenience.
Doctor Maple LLC is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, accuracy, or availability of any external website or service. Accessing third-party sites is at your own risk. We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of any external service you use.
14. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises between you and Lingua & Libretto, we ask that you contact us first at hello@lingualibretto.com so we can attempt to resolve the matter informally. We will respond within 10 business days.
If informal resolution is not successful, the parties agree to attempt mediation in good faith before pursuing litigation.
Any legal action arising from these terms or your use of Lingua & Libretto services shall be governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, and shall be brought exclusively in the courts of Kansas. If you are located in the EEA or UK, nothing in this clause affects your rights under applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
15. Modifications to These Terms
Lingua & Libretto reserves the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of this website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
For material changes affecting active registrations or coaching engagements, we will notify affected participants by email before the changes take effect.
16. Governing Law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
For users in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, applicable consumer protection and data protection law also applies and is not excluded by these terms.
