  • production-specific text preparation

  • individual repertoire coaching for participants

  • ongoing studio or program support

Institutional engagements may take place online or in person.

Scope, fees, scheduling, payment terms, cancellation terms, travel requirements, and deliverables are established through the applicable proposal or agreement.

Lingua & Libretto may modify or discontinue services, formats, pricing, or scheduling options at any time. Changes do not alter the terms of an already confirmed purchase unless otherwise agreed.

3. Eligibility

Lingua & Libretto services are intended for adults age 18 and older.

By purchasing, registering for, or participating in a service, you represent that:

  • you are at least 18 years old

  • you have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement

  • the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge

Lingua & Libretto does not knowingly offer its services to individuals under 18.

If we learn that an individual under 18 has registered directly for a service, we may cancel the registration and refund amounts paid, where appropriate.

4. Registration, Booking, and Payment

Individual Sessions

Modern Italian or French Language Coaching and Italian Opera Text Coaching are booked through Calendly.

Payment is due at the time of booking unless otherwise stated.

A session is not confirmed until the booking and required payment have been successfully completed.

Payments may be processed through Stripe or another payment processor integrated with the scheduling platform.

Lingua & Libretto does not directly store full payment-card details.

Workshops

Workshop registration is managed through Ticket Tailor.

A workshop place is confirmed when registration and required payment have been successfully completed.

Each workshop is purchased separately.

Registration is subject to the capacity and availability shown at the time of purchase.

Institutional Engagements

Submitting an institutional inquiry does not create a booking or obligate either party to proceed.

Institutional engagements are confirmed only after the applicable scope, fee, scheduling terms, and contractual requirements have been agreed upon.

Proposals, contracts, invoices, and related administration may be managed through Dubsado.

Payment terms for institutional work are set out in the applicable proposal, invoice, or agreement.

5. Individual Session Rescheduling and Cancellation

The following policy applies to individually booked Modern Italian or French Language Coaching and Italian Opera Text Coaching sessions unless different terms are stated at the time of booking.

Rescheduling

You may reschedule a session with at least 24 hours’ notice, subject to available appointment times.

Use the scheduling link provided in your confirmation materials where available.

Cancellation

If you cancel more than 24 hours before the scheduled session, you may request a refund.

Sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled start time are not refundable.

Missed Sessions

A missed session without notice is considered used and is not refundable or eligible for credit.

If you arrive late, the session will ordinarily still end at the originally scheduled time.

Lingua & Libretto Cancellation

If Lingua & Libretto must cancel a session and a mutually acceptable replacement time cannot be arranged, you will receive a refund of the amount paid for that session.

6. Workshop Cancellation, Credit, and Rescheduling

Workshop purchases are subject to the following policy unless a particular event listing states otherwise.

Participant Changes at Least Seven Days Before the Workshop

If you can no longer attend and make your request at least seven days before the scheduled workshop, you may request that the amount paid be applied as credit toward a future Lingua & Libretto workshop, subject to availability.

Workshop credit:

  • applies to a future Lingua & Libretto workshop

  • has no cash value

  • may be used only toward an eligible future workshop

  • does not guarantee a place in a particular future workshop

Within Seven Days of the Workshop

Requests made fewer than seven days before the scheduled workshop are ordinarily not eligible for refund, transfer, or future-workshop credit.

Because workshop capacity is limited, a late cancellation may leave a place that cannot reasonably be filled.

Participant Transfers

Workshop registrations may not be transferred to another person without prior written approval from Lingua & Libretto.

Lingua & Libretto Cancellation

If Lingua & Libretto cancels a workshop, registered participants will be offered either:

  • a refund of the workshop registration fee, or

  • an alternative date or appropriate credit, where available

If a workshop must be rescheduled, registered participants will receive information about the revised date and available options.

Technology Problems

Because workshops are delivered online, participants are responsible for having a suitable device, internet connection, and access to Zoom.

A participant’s individual technology failure ordinarily does not entitle the participant to a refund or replay.

If a significant technical failure on Lingua & Libretto’s side prevents delivery of a substantial portion of the workshop, Lingua & Libretto may provide an alternative session, credit, or refund as appropriate.

7. Institutional Cancellation and Rescheduling

Institutional engagements are governed by the cancellation, rescheduling, and payment terms stated in the applicable agreement, proposal, or contract.

Those terms may address matters including:

  • deposits or retainers

  • cancellation deadlines

  • preparation already completed

  • non-refundable expenses

  • travel arrangements

  • rescheduling

  • weather or transportation disruption

  • institutional schedule changes

  • force majeure or other circumstances outside either party’s reasonable control

Where institutional work requires significant advance preparation, repertoire research, custom materials, or travel arrangements, fees associated with work already completed or expenses already incurred may remain due even if the engagement is later cancelled.

8. Travel and In-Person Institutional Engagements

For in-person institutional engagements, professional fees do not include travel or lodging unless expressly stated otherwise.

The institution may be responsible for reasonable expenses including:

  • airfare or mileage

  • hotel accommodations

  • ground transportation

  • parking

  • meals or per diem where applicable

  • other agreed travel expenses

Travel arrangements and reimbursement terms will be specified in the engagement agreement.

Lingua & Libretto is not responsible for transportation delays, cancellations, weather events, or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

If such circumstances affect an engagement, the parties will make reasonable efforts to reschedule or agree upon another appropriate solution.

13. Recording of Individual Sessions

Modern Italian or French Language Coaching and Italian Opera Text Coaching sessions are not ordinarily recorded by Lingua & Libretto.

Participants may not record audio, video, or screen content from an individual session or workshop without prior permission.

If a participant requests recording as an accommodation or for another specific purpose, the request must be discussed and approved in advance.

14. Confidentiality and Participant Privacy

Lingua & Libretto will handle personal information and participant information in accordance with its Privacy Policy.

Private individual sessions are treated as private educational engagements.

However, Lingua & Libretto cannot guarantee absolute confidentiality in group settings because other participants may hear, see, or learn information that a participant chooses to share during a workshop.

Participants in group workshops are expected to respect the privacy of others.

You may not record, publish, distribute, or publicly identify another participant’s contributions without that person’s permission.

15. Testimonials and Feedback

Submitting private feedback does not automatically authorize Lingua & Libretto to publish it as a testimonial.

If we wish to use identifiable feedback for marketing or promotional purposes, permission will be requested separately.
